At Wadler, Perches, Hundl & Kerlick, we can be your lawyers during Covid. We’ve established common-sense processes and procedures to keep you safe and keep our staff safe during the current Covid pandemic. We can continue to help you with our full range of legal services, and Attorney Philip Hundl explains how we’ve adapted in this video. Call or text 800-929-1725 for an online or phone appointment.
Summary of How We Can Be Your Lawyers During Covid
Philip Hundl was everything and more when we were faced with possible condemnation by a pipe line. He made himself available to us within hours of first talking to him, did a careful examination of our property to fully understand our concerns, and then he gave us a complete and clear pathway to follow. I could not have been more impressed. A true Texas gentleman and a scholar. Look no further.

We Are Your Estate Planning Lawyers During Covid
What about Probating a Will?
You have a loved one that’s passed away. You need to probate a will or do something in the probate court whether it’s an heirship proceeding or probating the will as a muniment of title.
All of the courts are set up for e-filing, so we file things electronically. The judges have been very accommodating to have those hearings online. So we’re able to have the probate hearing to probate the will online and even telephonically sometimes. Most of the time it’s a Zoom hearing or some type of format like Zoom with the court, and it will be simple and easy and quick. Everyone is as safe as they can be.
What about Real Estate Closings?
How about those? You may remember you’ve done a real estate closing in the past and you had to go to the real estate broker’s office or the attorney’s office to sign the earnest money contract. Then a little bit later there was a closing and you had to go to a title company.
During Covid, nothing’s really changed with real estate closings but we’ve got the ability to do the online notary option. If it’s easier for you or you want to go to the title company in person, title companies have a room set up where you’re signing documents and the notary’s a distance away while witnessing your signings.
What About Signing Documents or Contracts
Once again, if you want to sign documents or contracts, we can do all that online. If you prefer to come by and sign the documents in person, we can meet you at your car. Our staff will wear personal protective equipment like masks and face shields. You never leave your car, we’ll hand you the documents, and you can sign documents and keep the pen.
If you want to have an in-person meeting at our office we can set up your meeting at most of our offices in a protected area outside. Most of our offices have an outdoor area where we can sit outside and distance ourselves and still speak privately in-person if necessary.
What About Family Law, Representing Landowners and Other Matters
We continue to represent our clients in a wide range of legal matters including family law, landowner condemnation, property partition, representation for CAD appeals, oil and gas law, and criminal law matters. We are a multifaceted law firm.
A lot of those hearings are being held online to the extent that they can be held that way. Other courts are taking precautions when they do have in-person hearings.
I had a bench trial in a case in August. We took precautions and had that two-day trial. So it all can be done and is being done.
There’s No Need to Wait for Legal Services
So if you have any questions about a legal matter that you need to have handled, we can help you now. Perhaps you’ve waited hoping all of this will be over soon — there’s no reason to wait because we can help you now.
We have five different offices in Fort Bend County, Wharton County and Matagorda County. We have our main office in Wharton, Texas, a satellite office in El Campo, and offices in Bay City, Richmond and Fulshear. We have nine lawyers serving clients at those offices and a very experienced and professional staff.
Once again, thank you. And if you have any questions, let us know.
